Guys, I have a confession to make: I'm a jerk.

I've been nearly absent from DA in the last few... *ahem*, years... left my friends, my watchers unattended and paid little attention to my account. I feel bad for my lack of presence on DA because it deserves better but social media and work sucked me away. I should be more attentive to this community. Sorry.
Not that I've got a lot to show lately. Most of my coloring activity has moved to schoolbooks which are good work but not much fun to post, leaving little time for personal stuff, and what's left goes in writing novels and promotion and blah.

Even after all this time, I still got Huntik and WinX fans writing me in private to ask information about these series, or even for fanarts and art trades. Wish I could give them something better than more sorry excuses, but the reality is, I don't work anymore on Rainbow products - not currently, that is - and there is no new Huntik stuff coming up, nor you will see any fanarts on my side. I liked Huntik a lot, but it's years in the past, it left me burned for how bad things ended up with the publisher and the whole project is dead to me, I've moved on to other things. I guess Deviantart's obsession for fanarts rather than original works kinda pushed me away from here a little, too. Please stop asking me to do fanarts of Rainbow stuff. Thank you.

I have a few big personal projects going on with my waifu :iconritam:, which are currently being published only in Italy but maybe in the future will be translated and made available to all.

Here are a few pictures of our kids (they are even sorted by age):

And the comic books too:

Yeah, I've been busy.

For those who rightfully have no idea what this shit is all about and are interested in learning more, here's a recap: in the last few years of my life, I've devoted myself to developing two fantasy sagas, namely Darkwing and Dershing. Both are ongoing series composed of several books.

Darkwing tells the adventures of Peter Klein, a 33-years old terrestial nerd who arrives on planet Corown after an accident, where he becomes the Darkwing, keeper of the Seven-Eyed Sword and herald of the endbringer god Xagash. Peter however will try to escape his curse and use this power to protect the people he's supposed to destroy. It's and epic/action tale planned to last seven books plus some spin-offs. It's structured very much like a tv series with a lot of anime references, featuring also science fiction, horror, romance and nerdy humor with some funny quotes. So, it's actually a mix of genres... if you need a quick picture, think of it as Army of Darkness meets Berserk meets Saint Seiya meets Game of Thrones meets Avatar the Last Airbender :D Ok I'm joking here but seriously, there is a lot going on with the plot of this series so I can't go too deep in the details, however it has been received by readers and critics with an enthusiasm I totally didn't expect, all books rate 4 to 5 stars on Amazon and since its debut at the end of 2012 it has been steadily growing in popularity. Three books are out so far, plus ad equal number of self-published comics, and two DLCs in ebook are scheduled to come out later this year. Also, I've just published a re-edited version of the trilogy codenamed "Redux Edition" which fixes a lot of issues that were left behind by the former publisher in the first edition and features some extended scenes. Unfortunately, I'm still limited by the lack of a foreign version because translating such big books is very expensive (the first one is 415 pages, the third one is over 560 pages long), but a translation is in my plans and we'll certainly get to that at a later stage. Darkwing is entirely creator-owned and selfpublished.

<<-- this last one's in full color, I promise, it's just that I had the grayscale version uploaded =)

Dershing is the newest addition to our "family", it's a shorter story arc composed of two books plus an offshoot for kids. It's more "fable-ish" in tone but there's some cool action and adventure here too. It's set a fantasy world inspired to central Italy named Oma, where dragons have an advanced civilization and form the ruling class, while humans are more young and primitive. In fact, many dragons have taken them in their homes as servants, or "dershi". However, dragons suddenly find out they are becoming sterile, and their species is doomed to extinction. As their best scientists rush in search of a cure, makind prepares to inherit the future, but a sudden discovery changes everything: there are humans able to bear children with the dragons, the "dershing". These "high" dragons however are different from true dragons, they are part human in nature and not everyone will accept the new species. Fear and racism will ignite a conflict which will nearly destroy all that is left of their once-great civilization.

The first book of the bilogy, "The Last Dragons", is comprised of four connected tales set in a 1000-years time span. The next installement, "The Last Dershing", will tell the true epilogue of this conflict and the fate of both dragons and humankind, and how their relationship will develop. In this world there are also the muscu, a race of small humanoid mice, which are the main characters of "All for a Wooden Dragon", a story for young readers. Both of these are beautifully illustrated inside by :iconritam:. These are the illustrations for the kids book.

Mi immedesimo troppo in voi. Sono un po' più piccolino ma davvero, sia per la questione dei libri che della coppia al lavoro su di essi, mi sembra di leggere un mio journal... certo, un mio journal fra un cinque-sei anni, per ora i miei libri sono soltanto tre :D
